This fast-track, design-build project consists of building a 560,000-square-foot ambulatory care clinic and a 165,000-square-foot in-patient addition to the existing hospital. The scope also includes an eight-story, 944-space patient parking garage and approximately 375,000 square feet of phased renovations to existing medical facilities. Our work also includes a 700-foot-long logistics tunnel and all utility infrastructure and site work.

 

The renovation was one of the largest active hospital renovations ever completed in the US at that time. All current Walter Reed departments and services remained operational during construction, requiring detailed planning/phasing and, for some departments, construction of and transition into temporary facilities.
